How to Tell Which Scenario You're In
Here's the checklist I now use before any PPE order. It's the one that replaced a $4,700 learning process.
- Identify the primary hazard first. Liquids mean splash-rated goggles. Projectiles and debris mean high-impact glasses. Sun and wind mean tinted or photochromic lenses. Pick the hazard, then pick the PPE.
- Ask how long the PPE will be worn. Ten-hour shifts require comfort and anti-fog performance. A 15-minute visitor tour only requires that the glasses fit.
